Cougar Bay

"My wife and I were looking for a modest nature trail today and this location was a good fit — distance from our resort — schedule etc. Easy to locate off main highway. Parking for about 12 vehicles. Trailhead is well displayed. Trail surface is relatively level with slight inclines; mostly a dirt track with a few rocks and stones. Most of the route is is well established and semi-groomed — a few places are overgrown with the lush vegetation. Several places along the trail include helpful & educational kiosks regarding the topography, ecology & wildlife that are prone to inhabit these types of wetlands bordering forested lands. Total route loop is not measured on the trailhead signage — estimated at 1 - 1.5 miles. Note: this location does not provide facilities."

"Fun, easy hike for a family. The trail is well marked and they cleaned up all the down trees from the last wind storm. So, my 5 year old was just fine hiking it. There were some beautiful vistas along the trail as well as some informational signs to help budding nature lovers. A few steep grades, but very short. The trail was not strenuous at all. Highly recommend for a nice afternoon hike."

"Great place to hike has alot of trails if your willing to go off trail alot of places with no people and the dogs love it! Hard to find parking when busy only about 10 spots. Get there at 6:00 A.M. or off season."
